At one time this property was a nursery focused on native vegetation.
The nursery is no longer on site but this property still benefits from having been home to the nursery including established fruit trees, numerous garden beds and a large amount of native and ornamental vegetation.

The days are still sunny but the nights are cooling off, reminding us that winter is around the corner. The garden harvest is in and the home improvement projects are slowly winding down. Here's a few more pictures to give you an idea of what's been happening lately at this gardener's paradise. . .

When we need a break from working, there's nothing quite like the beautiful beaches along the Wild & Scenic section of the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River, located within easy driving distance of the house.
The water is cool and clean, the air refreshing and the view is perfectly wild.

Summer is in full swing. The days are warm, the river is perfect for swimming, the night sky is full of stars, the garden is flourishing & the blueberries are ripe!

The purpose of this blog is to share a special piece of property with you. A beautiful home surrounded by gardens in the heart of Idaho. This unique piece of property is located in Idaho County, Idaho approximately ten miles south east of the town of Kooskia. It's situated in the foothills of the Clearwater Mountains. The Nez Perce National Forest is just a few miles a way. The Selway-Bitterroot & Gospel Hump Wilderness Area are within easy driving distance as are the Lochsa, Selway, Clearwater and Salmon Rivers. This is a gardener's paradise! The property has numerous fruit trees, including; cherries, apples, pears & plums as well as almond and hazelnut trees. Well established asparagus, grapes, raspberries, boysenberries, strawberries and over 80 mature blueberry bushes!! 3 different sections of well developed terraced, raised beds with a unique variety of perennial flowers, herbs and berries, as well as annual vegetable crop space. All this sits inside a 3 acre deer fence. The property has a 22' X 48' greenhouse. The 4 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath house sits on 8.8 acres. The total square footage of the house is just over 1500 square feet. A beautiful covered cedar deck adds an additional 500 sq. ft. and an attached shop adds 600 extra sq. ft. There is a small root cellar as well. The property also includes a 500 gallon hot tub with cedar siding.
